Thanks go to Sigmar for bringing this to our attention, thought I'd do some research. For those of you who haven't yet heard Square have decided to create a sequel for Final Fantasy 7 in the form of a movie here's the info:

Release date: Summer 2004 (Japan)

Story Info :
The Movie is set 2 years after FF7, A mysterious Disease
known "Star Scar Syndrome" has almost wiped out the planets
entire population. (and thats about all thats been released)

-20+ characters most of whom we already know.
-Confirmed Characters are Cloud, Sephiroth and Mystery Man???

I thought they gave up after the last Final Fantasy movie. I'm really suprised to learn a new one is coming up. *shrugs* oh well, if the trailer looks good, I just might go and see it.

That's if it gets out of Japan!

I don't know; this movie could go either way. It could be a huge flop, like Square's previous CG movie or it could be a masterpiece just like Final Fantasy VII, the game. Here's hoping!

Sephiroth doesn't look so cool in that movie.. I think he actually looks ugly with those blackish lips.. Just my [img]graemlins/twocents.gif[/img] though

interesting, I wonder whether the Star Scar Syndrome is actually released by Holy to wipe out human beings. well, gotta see the movie to find out.

Why does everyone thought the Final Fantasy movie was so bad? The trailer is okay and I think Sepriropth looks ok. Even though the fight was very brief it was fun to watch.

I saw the movie, and it was okay, I guess, but the story could have been better. It was too vague to be honest, and I didn't really understood it all to well..
And Sephiroth.. I think he looks totally uncool. Sorry :(
