i have uni holidays coming up soon, and am looking for some stuff to read. I'm just wondering if anyone can suggest any relatively new fantasy authors to me? George RR Martin - Song of Ice and Fire series
Robin Hobb - Farseer trilogy and the tawny man are great
Eric van lustbader - ring of five dragons
Philip Pullman - dark materials trilogy, it's for younger readers but it actually is a quite good read

I second the motion on His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. Also I recommend Stan Nicholls' Orcs series if you like FRPG novels or twisted Tolkien.
