What can I say I went to it Easter because there was nothing else playing and it got 3 1/2 start. It was excellent! A complex story with and intricate plot line. I hear it was based on a book of the same title.

I was pleasantly surprised and in my opinion Jon Voight should get a best supporting actor nomination out of it.

I've read that the book is a "classic" childrens book? I just ordered it from Amazon.Figure I'll read the book first then wait till the movie comes out on dvd..

I know that it is based on a "children's book", but it is definitely a movie that will appeal to all ages. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I think any adult would. PLUS, it is totally appropriate for children. Nothing offensive in it at all, in my opinion.

I have a philosophy, generally speaking, great books make great movies, with one caveat----they don't tinker with it too much. Someone that read the book told me that it was word for word dialog from the book and the plot was unchanged.

As I said, I was surprised---it was an excellent movie.

It was well worth seeing! When I went, most of the audience was either teenage or middle-age (not always with kids). It will definitely be worth buying on DVD.
