Yesterday I went to see the Core. It was a good movie. Good action, logic story, good acting,... It's worth seing.

Thanks for the good review. I had read negative info, and was rather worried about it...but those people are not real people like you and me. I hate pro critics. They are usually wrong. I will make an effort to at least rent it when it comes out.

How interesting. I was thinking it was just going to be an Armageddon rip-off. Perhaps I will check out this movie...at a matinee, of course.

I loved the first 25 minutes of this movie, but then found myself predicting, with ease, the rest of it... needless to say, I didn't care for the last 2/3.

It is a subterranean version of Armaggeddon. Standard action-adventure stuff with all the cliches, such as when the scientist says the ship can break off segments and if they don't they'll lose "structural integrity," you just *know* someone's going to die in a perilous save-the-ship scene.

I was hoping this one would be watchable, the trailer certainly looked intriguing though the pseudo science looked like it was hokey. I think I'll go see it now.

Dang it, I went to see Phone Booth instead, based on bad reviews of course - plus The Core wasn't in the stadium-seating room.
|
How was Phone Booth? I am considering going to see it.
|
Was pretty good. The entire movie takes place in real time and there is basically one setting - the phone booth - that dominates 90% of the movie. Very intense dialogue. Was probably adapted from a play. Forest Whitaker and Colin Ferrell do a fine job. No FX, so it's one that's fine for video. ;)
