I went to see this film yesterday expecting an average action film with a wafer thin plot and bad acting. Instead, I saw one of the best films of the year so far.

It's kind of like 1984 with a bit of The Matrix thrown in. It only had a $20 million budget but the action scenes with gun-kata (kinda like kung fu with guns) were beautifully done. However the story is not neglected and at times it really made me think. Christian Bale gives a fine performance as Preston, who
finally feels emotion for the first time.

I've heard that Equilibrium was only released in 300 theatres in the US, for some insane reason, and there was almost no publicity. It was released yesterday (March 14th) in Ireland and the UK. If you have nothing to do go and see it. If you are busy, stop what you are doing and go and see it! You won't be disappointed.
