Heyas everyone

I heard somewhere that Xan was a 'Greycloak' and I wondered what that meant. Could anyone enlighten me as to what this title represents?

Thanks alot

I think it is just the title of a group of elves, primarily wizards from Evereska.

Funny how he wears purple and not grey, isn't it.

Half-right, I think, Andyr. I believe Greycloak is the name of a mountain range near Evereska.

No, actually Greycloak is a title conferring respect among the Elves, but I don't know if it's more of a social group or a type of rank. In either case, it's hard to believe that a Level 2 Enchanter could be worthy of being a Greycloak--let along carrying a Moonblade.

Hm... Well, elves can carry a moonblade at any age. Moonblades judge potential, not current skill.

"Greycloak" might be a title, but it *is* the name of... Not mountains, but hills, just north of Evereska.

I wonder if Halaster Blackcloak's name is a perversion of that honorary title, or if it's just a coincidence?

Perhaps the Moonblade is a family relic (though the description does not say that). That could also explain Xan's ownership.
