This series is one of my all time favourties...and I dont really know why. It doesnt really have anything to make it stand out and is full of a lot of the same cliches. But I just love this series for some reason. Anyone have a clue as to why I could like it? :D
Seriously did anyone else like this Trilogy?

It was my feeling that Elizabeth Moon actually understood the down and dirty nitty gritty aspects of medieval combat, and didn't romanticize it at all. She was a commissioned officer in the US Armed Forces as a young woman, and obviously is a student of war, and of the strategies/tactics that would be needed to fight battles in the environment she created for her trilogy.

The first book was hands down the best Elizabeth Moon has ever put out. I enjoyed the grittiness that she imparted and brought out the realism of the scenes to the readers. After that she went downhill and unfortunately I pass up her books on the bookshelf.
