As in 'Kivan of Shilmista'? I cannot find it in my Forgotten Realms Atlas. I also don't recall Kivan mentioning it's location in his banters. Is Shilmista just game designer poetic license?

The forest of Shilmista I think is far southeast, near the Spirit Soaring. (I think, I just know this by reading Salvatore novels). You never go there in Baldur's gate.

It is a canon FR place, yes. [img]smile.gif[/img] But not in a location visited in the BG games, as Marty4 said.

Shilmista is at the western slopes of the Snowflake Mountains. Other nearby places of note are city of Caradoon and Impresk lake.
It is to the immediate south east of the BG world map area.
