I read his books "Fang the Gnome" and "King of the Scepter'd Isle" and loved them. Can't find anything else by him though. Did a search on the web, turned up one very small site, in Spanish, or maybe Portugese, in any case some language I don't speak.

So I was wondering, have any of you people read those books, or know if he wrote others? And if you read them, what did you think of them?

No one? Hmmm... It seems that once again I have been successful in digging up a very obscure writer.

That's a blast from my past, J'aran, I have one of his books, called 'Friends Come In Boxes', published back in 1975, and book of the month in the science fiction Book Club in was a member of back then.

I read it, quite enjoyed it and then promptly forgot about it, and him, until you mentioned him. The two you mention sound like fantasy, 'Friends' was hard SF, about the problems of immortality and a possible solution.

I always assumed that Coney was a 'one-hit wonder' - apparently he was at least a 'three-hit wonder' :D

Cool, so I'm not the only one who has read something of the guy. :D

Yea, 'Fang the Gnome' and 'King of the Scepter'd Isle' are humourous fantasy, set in Arthurian Britain. Sometimes they reminded me of Terry Pratchett's Discworld; the style of humour is the same occasionally. Two quite enjoyable books.
