No, this isn't a LotR flame .
I've just picked up a book called Bored of the Rings. I borrowed a copy of it from my friend's brother about 10 years ago and thought it was ok. I've been trying to get hold of it ever since, but I was always told it was out of print. Well, now it's back in print and I've just picked one up for £6.99. Has anyone else read it? |
I've seen it in a fantasy store in Oslo. Browsed through it a bit...
From what I've seen it was written by someone who was, indeed, bored. I suppose it can be quite humourous at times. |
It's funny in parts (small ones). The worse bits are the names.

That was mostly the reason I put it down again. Books where the main character is called ... Snotwhatever usually don't hold my interest

Oh, heck. My so-called friends have been boring me with that for YEARS,(never mind how many)I mean "Six feet's your height, one eighty your weight/ You cash your chips on page eighty-eight" or something like that. It's suddenly come to me-(has epiphany)-I need new friends!

Even so, the Nazgul are amusing. |
dominions, or anyone else who's interested, I have the Bored of the Rings in a .pdf format 230 kb), so I could e-mail it to those interested.
