Since Memnoch has not yet seen this, Jabidas, may I make a suggestion?

If you want to read the vampire books, start with 'Interview with a Vampire'

If you want to start with just a very good book of hers, read 'Servant of the Bones'

I have the entire collection of the Vampire set for sell, if you are interested.
I take care of my books, and I even have the collector's edition of the original ones, from Interview to Queen of the Damned.
If interested, give me a call.
My sister is keeping them for me, as my wife will not allow me to keep them in our home. (She thinks they are bad...)

I know what you mean, Larry! When I was a JW I wouldn't have had 'em in the house, either! Wouldn't even have read 'em, lol!

I would go:

1. Interview with A Vampire
2. The Vampire Lestat
3. Queen of the Damned
4. Tale of the Body Thief (though I skipped this one)
5. Memnoch the Devil (of course!)
6. The Vampire Armand
6. Pandora

These are the ones that are loosely related. Do NOT read Queen of the Damned without reading The Vampire Lestat first.

The rest of them (Servant of the Bones, etc) are not really related, so you can read them at your convenience. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

The only thing is, though, that the Mummy fills in some more character information that I don't think you get in the others. It also tells a different viewpoint of the whole thing. (imo) Personally, I liked it just fine. Not the best book in the lot, but good. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

I've read all of the vampire novels and all of the Mayfair Witches novels. Not to overwhelm you, jabidas, but once you read the Vampire ones, read the Witch ones (they cross over quite a bit). You'll hear of (and meet) a few of the Mayfairs in the Vampire novels and the Mayfairs have interaction with the Vampires in the other set. It's really neat (imho).

All this interaction and crossover and contrasting viewpoints is what I love about Anne Rice's collection. Pandora is a classic example.

Allo then here comes a little update, I got Servant of the bones today and im at page 138 at the time of writing. Im not wowed by it yet and I figure I should have probably got a Vampire book because I wanted to read about evil charecters. Next time I suppose, Interview wasnt in the shop, Ill just go straight to The vampire Lestat after this, I saw the film of interview anyway so no great loss. I hope.

Oh, yes, so far of her 'stand alone, meet the vampires' books, Pandora is my favorite. The others are ok, but not very 'gripping'.
