After reading about all the D&D books here, I think I'd enjoy to get into them. As I've mentioned before, I'm already into Jordan's Wheel of Time series. The man as I think eight books and each are 700+.

Is it possible? Could I read two at once and stay focused?

You're not lost if you don't care where you are.

I'm actually reading 4 books at once, but the other three just on and off, concentrating on my main one.

But if the books are long, you might get confused, yes. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

I usually read only one book at a time so I can concentrate fully on that one book. I have been known to have two books going at the same time although they were in two different genres.

I am currently reading:

Stephen King - Dreamcatcher (his latest, got it for my birthday)
Anne Rice - The Witching Hour (love this one, have read it a few times)
Various books about Vikings (for an essay, so not reading from cover to cover)

So yes, I find it quite easy to read several books at once. I often find myself doing several things at once to keep occupied, and also to fit in more things! At the moment I am posting here and writing my essay about Vikings. Later I may watch TV and do any combination of: reading, crossword puzzle, cross stitch etc. etc.

Actually this turned out to be a big fat lie as I didn't do any more of my essay. Perhaps that proves a point about trying to do two things at once - you only think you are multitasking. In reality one thing is being done, the other is being ignored.

I normally read at least two books at once, choosing which one to read according to mood of the moment. There is an interesting thing about doing this, though: when re-reading a book I haven't read for a few years, I find that there are great chunks of it missing! My brain had assimilated two or more books as if they were one! It doesn't impact at the time of reading, though - only later!

I can watch tv and do cross-stitch at the same time, but writing an essay and chatting on the forum? Difficult! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif

I tend to always be reading 3 or 4 books at a time, usually carrying 2 or 3 in my attache to work...
It's usually 1 non-fiction, 1 biography, and 2 fiction...
Right now, it's "The Motley Fool's Investment Guide", Lance Armstrong's "It's Not About the Bike", "Dreamcatcher", by Stephen King, and Jordan's "Path of Daggers" book 8 of the Wheel of Time...
I lied... I'm also carrying and reading "On Writing", also by Stephen King...
