1)What is the best armour class you actually have had? My character has 95AC and still protected against all the level/poison/ect and (thankfuly)is not a dwarf defender. I doubt however that it is anywhere near a record. What is the best armour class possible?

2)What is the best Atack Bonus you have had on a character? Mine is 66 but I know Stig and others would leave that far, far behind. What is the best AB possible given the weapons available?

3)Assuming your best maxed out character was to start a trip down into undermountain solo, how far would you get without him (her) dying? Have you ever had a serious attempt at "I must not die' tour of EfU? I have never beaten level 7 without losing a fortitude save (curse them) what about you?

Dunno offhand, I'd have to pull up the characters. I usually play more for fun and roleplay than stats, though, so some of my high level chars don't have the best stats at the moment! :D

My level 40 aa was dying on levels 8 and 10 before the big changes and additions when I last used her, so dont think I have any that make it all the way without a resurrect or two.

Personally I think that damage immunity and fortitude are as important as AC and AB. The trick seems to be balancing them all.

With care it is possible to solo Undermountain using just the equipment you can buy or find but you need a lot of luck and ways to get through level 8 (at least before the revised version) fast or hidden.

I think my Highest AC (buffed) was around 116.

My Highest AB (buffed) was around the mid 70's I think.

My only character to make it all the way down to 13 without dieing was my weapon master.

robertthebard 08-29-2006 08:24 PM

I have never had a character make it all the way without dieing, although, in my defense, I had got all the way to level 12 once, only to get caught for an implosion meant for the NPC...

AC of 116? Bloody hell  HOW?

Actually Tim where have you been? I have not seen you in EfU since I joined up.

I've been in and out when not satisfing my Guild Wars addiction I'm also in the porcess of running out of room on my PC (new one is comming next week) so NWN is uninstalled atm.

I take it your enjoying NWN mate?

It combines a bard, red Dragon and a palemaster I think. His AB is in the crapper though.

Goes something like this

I am myself have only roughly 50+ or low 60 AC buffed or unbuffed but being a defender/shifter, my damage immunity is pretty high (except to magic damage).

I can take no criticals hits and absorb roughly (X/2 + 30 something dmg). X depends on how hard they hit me since my undead form halves all damage. And those belts can come in handy. So im pretty much immune to all damage around 70-80 damage hits.. except magical :(

AB is crap though

I actually don't do that much in AC, I think my best is on my dex warrior and is at 90. Most of my other characters have an AC at around 66 and up to 85, depending on if they use a shield or not.

My arcane archer has an AB of 75 using a +8 longbow, my best melee AB is at 71 with a +10 dagger, on the same dex warrior that had the high AC, he gets AB 72 against most targets though since halflings get +1 against all targets bigger then themselves.
On my strength warrior builds I hit AB 70 using +10 weapons.

Assuming that I started with a level 40 strength warrior, I would probably reach the proving grounds before I got imploded to death (I need natural 20s to beat the fortitude saves in there). It is entirely possible that I would get imploded to death before the proving grounds depending on how unfortunate I am with natural 1s before getting there.
It is also possible to get through the proving grounds without dying, but I have to get really lucky with my dev crits on the 3 combatants that throw implosion at you. (And on a side note, why is it that the enemies in Undermountain that are hardest to hit are all spellcasters?)

My monk has an ac of 70, unbuffed, at level 34, but the ab is only like 45...It makes for long fights...However, he shrugged off every implosion that him last night, along with only taking rare even magic missile damage, his spell resistance when I logged out last night was like 47. My second rogue/fighter/wm has an ac of 70ish, with an ab of 68 dual wielding daggers, and 69 using only one. This is only a two point improvement on ab over the original char I based him on.
