Hi all, I have a few questions...

First, i have found a stone symbol for the transporter, does this mean I can use it now? I just started on level two this evening.

Next, I am finding I have to head back to Durnad quite frequently to sell things. I now have four bags of holding but they only carry so many sets of armor. Once on level two do I still have to go back to Durnan or is there somewhere on level two where I can sell things?

Finally, if I have to go back to Durnan is there a quicker way to do it than navigating backwards?

Thanks in advance. This is VERY addictive! LOL

My advice?

Buy 1 or 2 pages FULL of Bags of Holding. If you fill them all, you took way too long to sell stuff, or you picked up all the random useless stuff with the salable stuff.

No quick way out of level 2. Level 3 has shops.

Yeah after level 2 you will be in Skullport which has a few shops.

Level 5 also has a Merchant.

Level 8 has a merchant.

Level 12 & 13 have merchants as well.

Merchant areas that I can recall at the moment:

Waterdeep itself (the Yawning Portal Inn is one of many places to buy and sell)
Trollbark Forest (dangerous to get there, only higher level characters need apply)
Level Three - Skulldeep (less stores than Waterdeep, but higher concentration)
Level Five (at the very beginning of the realm there)
Level Eight (excessively dangerous area. many interesting items at the shop there.)
Level Twelve (there are so far two merchants on this level. neither is easy to get to. the rewards are great.)
Level Thirteen - The Drow City (at least two merchants on this level as well. there might be a third I am forgetting.)

Stone symbols mean you can activate the teleporter specifically attributed to the level you found the symbol on. You cannot lose the stone symbol, meaning none can steal it from you. This also means you only need one, and therefore you cannot put the symbol in your bags to save space, or trade it with other people. Do not pick up another stone symbol of the same kind. You'll only be killing off your storage space.

As for bags? Well, let's just say I have managed to equip armies with the items I have collected. I have a scavenger pack rat system which normally works for me. The few times it hasn't, I just end up going through all the bags and doing massive dumps of items I have sold in the past that haven't earned me a lot of cash. Money is and isn't important in this game: you want to get tons of it, but under normal circumstances hoarding it to ridiculous levels is not required. You should always be buying tons of healing potions and other such goodies to compliment those shiny new weapons and armor you bought (or found) for yourself.

Yeah, my little dwarven girl has 7 bags of holding at the moment. But she's learned to be picky about what she picks up. If it's not *really* sweet, it can stay where it fell.

Thanks to all! I need to start getting picky aout what I pick up. I guess I need to stick with higher priced items. I am up to about $2.2 million in gold. I wanted to keep playing as Durnan had a set of Drow "Owl" armor that was + 10. I really wanted it. LOL It was something like $2.8 milion gold so I would have had to play for a while longer, but sleep was calling.

Mozenwaithe - you mentioned stealing...can someone steal items from me? Somehow when playing last night I found myself completely unarmed against "Thurl" I think his name was near the fire giants on leverl one. Prior to that I was duel weilding a +4 Longsword and a Wizards Mace (also +4 I think). I was doing quite well with them and could not figure out why i was getting crushed repeatedly. I know I was tired but I should have noticed I was unarmed b/f deciding to switch weapons after dying a very quick 3rd time. I have no idea what happened to them and spent 20 minures backtracking trying to find them thinking perhaps I "dropped" them during a battle.

Back to the stones, so ideally I will find another on level 2 that is only for level 2?

As to the stones, no. You will find more later in the module, there are two on level 10, 2 on level 12, and I think there are 2 on level 13, although I have only found one there, so far.

Yup, it's easy to get blinded by all the loot that's lying around but eventually you figure out what you think is worth lugging around!

Saw you in EfU the other day, welcome aboard! :D

Had you by any chance run across the rust monster? He's near the Minotaurs and not far from the bridge area you might have noticed them missing on. Had that happen with an npc I was with once.. he ended up naked too, totally hilarious since the guy was a ranger and had no armor on, to rust!
