How do you guys beat that red dragon at the top of Mount Galardym? I've tried for about an hour now and I keep getting smashed. I agreed with the fire giants that I would kill the dragon in exchange for the Belt of Ironfist (though I'm also planning to kill the fire giants) but I just CANNOT beat the lizard. I'm playing on Hardcore. Here's my group:

Myself tiefling (Rog1 Ftr4 Sor8 EK2)
Qara Sor16
Khelgar Ftr16
Bishop Rgr16
Ammon Jerro War15 (geez this bloke is useless)

I have tried the following strategies (my party is buffed with Stoneskin and Bulls Strength, with Qara having Shadow Shield as well)

1. stand up fight - I get hammered
2. spread my guys and have Khelgar up front, myself attacking from the side with magic, Qara further back, AJ on the other side and Bishop firing from range. As soon as the dragon breathes ALL my party are affected, even if they are not in front of the dragon. Then it hammers me.
3. tried to run and tire it out (or wait for its concealment spell to dissipate) but it's too fast and I still get hammered

Any help? I'd rather not drop the difficulty down unless I really have to...

Are you using a modified AI for Qara?

No. I'm running the beta patch and I didn't think it would work with any haks.

Beats me. I double-crossed the Fire Giants and allied with the Red Dragon. The Fire Giant Chief irritated me, no end. [img]graemlins/headshake.gif[/img]
