This thread will be progressively updated as new patches are released. Please scroll DOWN to find the latest news. ---Memnoch </font> That's right, a patch is already out to fix some stuff. Make sure you patch using the Update function. The patch is also available from Obisian's NWN2 website. Here's an update. Quote:

Note that this patch will not work if you have a DVD copy of the game, or downloaded it (legally) from D2D. You'll have to wait for the Critical Rebuild files to be posted up on Obsidian's site, which was supposed to happen on Wed pm Pacific time (I checked just not and it wasn't there yet).
Apparently the SP game should work ok without the patch. More details HERE. [ 11-02-2006, 02:33 AM: Message edited by: Memnoch ] |
I just up graded the DVD patch to 1.02 thank god I have high speed T-1 now it took 6 min 11 sec to down load so I have no Idea how long it will take a dial up connection.

The patch is apparently not working for DVD buyers yet (but is for D2D downloaders). They haven't gotten a critical rebuild out yet.
This is not the best way to launch a hyped new game. |
They plan to patch it again soon. They said they are looking for ways to optimize it so it will run more smoothly on systems. There are people with dual Nvidia 7900gtx's and 2g ram that report stuttering and poor performance. They are also gonna make changes to the camera because it's ruining the game for tons of people. Good god, NWN's 1 camera was so fluid compared to this. Waiting a few days more wouldn't hurt. Not sure I can do it though.

Guess what, I'm getting 6fps for this game - and that's just walking around doing nothing. :D

I was prepared to keep an open mind on this game until I actually played it, and I think I was able to do that. But performance has been very disappointing, and I don't think my system is rubbish by any means (I was able to run Doom 3 and RTW at top settings).
I find it strange that we have to download an 87MB patch on day of release - and that patch doesn't even work for everyone. As Z said, it looks like Atari leaned on Obsidian to get a release out for the holiday season. I hope this is not KOTOR 2 all over again. |
Well, my game is in the mail, so I guess I can wait on the patch. I won't be able to use the "Update" button, though, since my gaming PC is not connected to the Internet.

The patch worked for my DVD version. I got it downloaded in 2 or 3 minutes(it's 80 MB or so) and it patched in 8 minutes. I heard some people talking about it taking 30 minutes to patch(not download).
In any case, it seems to be working for DVD users now. |
Really? Do you have the US DVD version?
