i've got something rather weird happening.
i log in fine, and can open stores, level up, even talk to people, and npcs.
i can even use the portal into undermountain (1st level)
then, when the first critter attacks, the game freezes up, locks me out, then crashes about 15-20 minutes later.

so far ive tried updating my video drivers, but that didnt work. I have now completely unInstalled NWN, and now reinstalled it.
after trying to patch it, i got the you should dl the crit rebuild patch, and have now done that. hopefully this will work :/

all fixxed.

had to dl 37 windows updates/patches- mainly spyware related.
had to update all video/grafix drivers
had to completely uninstall nwn. then reinstall and patch it to 1.67
now works fine got to play some of level 1, and even kill a few things..
sometimes my comp is just a jackass...

have now updated, and made sure that this wasn't happeneing with my 2 other machines. only advice I can give:

update your programs weekly, but most especialy after a bio-ware patch!

if that doesnt work, kick the damn thing hard!

well my comp is now ad-ware free, thanks to a program called Ad-Aware SE Personal. I had 183 crittical problems, and the Ad-Aware removed them.

I have seen a huge jump in better performance, from opening web pages to game play..

...rats...er, cool. I guess kicking it wouldn't have worked anyway.
