So I have all of these traps that I have recovered hoping to get some money off of them, but I guess they count as stolen loot, and I can't find anyone to buy them. Since my stuff is all gone, I have no loot bags, and my inventory is full of all of these traps. Should I just dump them, or do I have to look harder for someone to buy them?

Have you tried both merchants in Waterdeep?

I just wonder, is this a bug (the designers overlooked it), or did the designers do it on purpose?

It's an intentional deal. Rogues will tend to use black market type stores, which will buy the traps. The other side of that is, they expect that rogues may actually use the traps as part of their survival strategy. In my experience trying to use traps, it's not very effective, but opinions vary, I suppose.

Traps can be very effective, but it's only worth the effort of laying them in special or difficult encounters.

That traps are tagged as "stolen" is of couurse very annoying.

It's nothing a minor addition along the lines of
Quote:

if(GetBaseItemType(oItem)==BASE_ITEM_TRAPKIT)
{SetStolenFlag(oItem,FALSE);}
to the module's OnAcquired script can't fix though.

I like traps and find most to be highly useful. However, there aren't enough of them.

If you're going that far into the toolset, you can just change the check box on each item. That's a whole lot easier to do. You'd have to do it on each individual type of trap though, unless you use your script as an onplayeracquires type thing.

Actually, unchecking the traps is a lot more difficult as they're standard items as opposed to custom ones.

I checked both the merchants, White Thesta, and even the pool in the gateway. I have put no skills into setting the traps, so I guess I should just throw them away and just disable rather than recover...

Yeah, I even looked for a "secret" store today, while goofing around with a char idea. They don't sell for overly much anyway.
