I'm currently on the last chapter of the Original Campaign of Neverwinter Nights, I just got back to NW from Luskan.
Now I've saved about 300,000 gold pieces and got some nice drops and a nice custom weapon made (halbeard +4 reaper with STUN/DAZE... wow). I got the Diamond Edition DVD and loaded all the modules and wanted to know 1. does the next game SOU start automatically with my character? 2. if I have to import my character do I keep my weapons and gold? 3. do I keep my weapons and gold when going to HOU? Hoping you do, because if not that sux after going through the campaign and all the inventory and money managing just to lose it all and start over. |
SoU is a new story, with a new char. While you can import your char into it, it wouldn't be much fun, IMHO, as it's geared to lvl one chars. As for Hordes;
Huge Spoiler > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > You lose all your gear, but none of your gold. However, you can get your stuff back a bit later on in the game. |
I'm not a big cusser but DAMN! Well, why am I saving all this gold... where's a store, I need to buy something.

Careful there, big spender, you might find some community created modules to spend some of that in...

Just want to point out that "a bit later" means at the very end of HOTU chapter 1. And if you're not careful, you could easily miss where all your goodies are stored. I really hated having this done to my characters, and on subsequent playings (with different characters) I skipped chapter 1 entirely (found it rather boring, which was another reason).
However, Robert is right about the community mods (the original games are by no means the end of NWN experience). After finishing the OC, export your character for future play in some of the mods.
Nightowl2
|
Thanks for the info and heads-up rob the bard and Nightowl2.
Haven't started the last chapter of OC yet (that info derailed my enthusiasm for a bit) but I'll take your advice and just play it out naturally and save the dough and export character. Don't really need much else so far, since I had that Reaper made I'm feeling kind of over powered with strength buffs and a 4+ strength belt. I've critted for over 70+ with that thing...WOW!! and frequently hit in the 30s and 40s, also had the astral sword made, but I actuall like the gladiator sword with the acid damage better. But there was really nothing that looked cooler than the fire axe but it's only +2 so I stick with the +4 Reaper with the Daze chance bonus cause it just rocks (nothing like seeing that halo popup over a foes head and tommi hit him for a devastating one hit kill) |
