I now have some of the items needed to forge Marrok's stuff. Am I gonna be able to get back there, or can someone else make stuff with it, or what? I don't wanna shlep it around for nothing.

He's the only one who can make stuff for you. So if you have the items, better get your order in before the end of chapter 1.

Well, I guess that's a "NO" then. I got some of the items in chapter 2! How stupid is that. And I must admit there are several stupid things in this game. Like having to reload because your summoned creature is bloking the way out along with an npc who wants to leave the area. The npc should be able to move right through.

The character not being able to move around things made it largely unplayable for me. Extremely frustrating.

You do get tons of component items in chapter 2 and you might just need to use one or two for this quest or that (with that merchant for example ;) ). Don't worry, if you need them you'll have some very nearby so no need to hoard.

However, the merchant who can forge some items does appear again in chapter 3. And in that chapter some components are not available. So you might want to bring some (2 of each or so) from chapter 2.
That said, if you don't have some components don't worry. He doesn't forge any super extra good items and you'll probably find much better ones by yourself.

That's kinda what I'm finding. At this point, there isn't much that I would want to have made.
