After opening the toolset, whenever I try to open something with the area viewer, I get this message:
Access violation at adress 690AD6A9 in module 'vticd.dll'. Write of address 00000008 I've picked through this forum and the Bioware forums and have not found any solutions for this problem. Can anyone help? I'm running with all expansions, updated to 1.66 on Win XP. I'm not sure about the video card because I just had the motherboard and all that replaced :\ |
<font color=skyblue>Does this happen with one particular mod, or all mods you try to view the areas of...

It happens with any mod I try to open. I've not been able to even play around with creating one because it does it when I try to create anything (like an area).
|
Will it let you open modules at all, or does it crash only when trying to use the area viewer?
|
When using the area viewer.

Have you checked your video settings with the config program? Sounds crazy, but if it's opening the modules, I'm not sure what else it could be.
Unless; Have you changed hardware recently, added ram, new vid card, etc? It could be a RAM problem. |
Hmmm wierd problem to have with Windows XP. This usually happens on Window 98.
Find out more about your video card because I agree that may be the culprit. Go to your Start menu select run and type dxdiag and press enter. A screen with your system info should pop-up. Click on the display tab to see your video card info. [ 08-16-2005, 07:47 PM: Message edited by: Chewbacca ] |
If you have an older video card then get some older drivers for that card (the ones that came with the card on CD will be good)
I've seen errors like this when updating to the latest drivers for an older card. |
