I have been running around and figured it was time to ask. in the city of Neverwinter, how can fire beetle bellies be used other than 1 gp per? Seems like i have about 30 of em by the time i finish the first chapter. I usually can figure this stuff out but WN is a lot more involved (it's a good thing) than IWD and BGSoA

If you've a spellcaster class, you can use the bellies in mage labs, in combination with other ingredients, to craft items out of them. But you won't need as many as 30 really.

Yeah. In Port Llast there is a mage that allows you to use her lab to make different items out of ingredients, such as Fire Beetle Bellies and Skeleton Knuckles and the like. But as is already said, you can only do so if you are a spellcaster (or have an item that casts that certain spell needed).

Thanks for the tips. I found the lab in Port Llast, but alas I am a poor fighter so they serve me no purpose, so I sell em for the coin. If you kill enough of them you can buy a sling or someting.

I had the same problem lol. I kept picking them up ad now I find out they are worthless to me becuase I am a Rogue! LOL. Maybe you should change when youlevel up to a wizard or scorcerer, craft the items, then next level up change back to what you were? I am going to try just to see if it works.
