Well as much I wish to refrain from doing so, I'm going to ask for help. I'm in the Blacklake District and have gone into the tunnel through the bookshelf. I've slaughtered the skeletons and found a note in one chest and a pot helmet in the other. The note read something about a splinter. Next to the chest with the note is a door which, despite many attempts at many different ways of opening it, I can't get it to budge. I really want to try and get the game completed without too much aid so, if possible, I would prefer tips or advice rather then exact instructions.

Careful though... the later posts in that thread offer the excat instructions... (the first ones though list only more general advice)

Actually I just asked another question in that thread so it shall be higher up, but yes that place can be a pain if you don't know what to do.
