,,,Oh Why does the skill "brew potion" COST you XP? I think you should *gain* XP!! I can see it costing you gold, but not XP. What was the thinking on this?

about the only argument i've heard that makes sense is that it costs experience, because you infuse your potion or wand or whatever with some of your own essence.

In p&p it works the same. I think it's for game balance issues. IIRC the reason in p&p is what vesselle said above
