Which is more beneficial? Two handed weapons do more damage but you have to sacrifice many ac points.

So the question is, is ac class important or should just go for max damage?

by the way, my character is figher/weapon master/champion of torm.

I'll take a live fighter thats doing crap damage over a corpse that did decent damage any day of the week.

I prefer to dual weild for an extra attack. Its also easier to switch from dual weilding to one plus shield if you get into a situation where the extra couple of AC could make the difference, although I generaly don't bother with that either.

It's not really hard to get your AC up as a fighter, I found out. You've just got to combo all the different AC modifiers you can get and max those out. I did this with my bard/rdd and he didn't need to wear any armor at all. So if you can get the right equipment it shouldn't be a problem to do two-handed weapons. One-handed weapons have the pro that you can switch to a shield if you need to and can dual wield. It gives a little attack penalty though.

I've often ended up with a multiclassed fighter going toe to toe with his enemies, wearing nothing but a robe and AC/dexterity boosting items. I don't tend to play single class fighters - I prefer to multiclass them with rogue or arcane spellcasters, if you do that you get into the habit of learning how to boost AC without relying on armour because of the dexterity bonus cap and arcane spell failure.

If I've got a multiclass fighter/thief I always have them dual wield - they have high enough dex to get the ambidexterity feat, their AC tends to be lower wearing armour because of the dexterity bonus cap, and that extra attack per round usually pays off.
