This topic isn´t like all the others "Best Party" topics. Cause this is made with Tutu in mind. That means that the NPCs get dual wielding and some can even get kits. Makes it all so much more interesting.

Mye PC is an elven stalker dual wielding long sword and sometimes maces. My weapon prof is chosen with BG2 in mind. And that means that I must save slots for kantanas and maces, as I don´t get to rechoose.

The only NPC that I am sure of, is Imoen. Due to the story and roleplay I must have her with me. For the same reasons as Imoen, am I considering Jaheira and Minsc. Both are in BG2. But with me being a ranger, will Minsc be overkill? And then there are the old thief question. There are tree choices: Imoen, Coran and Safana. If I dual Imoen to mage I don´t need to worry about bringing another mage.
Coran is such a cool character, and such a suberb archer. But since my PC is going to get the best leather armour he is kinda easy to kill, right? And I get him very late, so I must rush through the early game to get him, before he messes up his thief skills. All these thing points in the direction of not taking him with me, but he is such a cool guy. Relly want him.
Safana sounds like a good thief. If I take her I can dual Imoen right away and still get Safana early withoyt rushing.

What do you guys think. Am I wrong about some of these people? What kind of party should I have?

Well, if you intend to take Jaheira and Minsc, then that means you get Khalid and Dynaheir (unless you "lose" them). Khalid is pretty much nerfed in Tutu. Dual-wielding bastard swords (there's only a few magical ones in the game) and no bow skills. Dynaheir is limited as a mage due to her specialization (evokers lose both enchantment/charm and conjuration/summoning). Safana is a step down as thief compared to Imoen, but she does allow you to dual Imoen over early and have a straight mage in the party (useful especially if you add Dynaheir). Alternately, use Xan instead of Dynaheir (he loses evocation, but with all the wands of fire/frost/lightning around, it's not a huge loss). If you use Minsc and Khalid, you are now stuck with 2 front liners that cannot use missile weapons (I consider missile weapons a must in BG1). Coran is useful, but having to rush through the plot to get to him can be really rough, and most of his thief skills will be already set. It's kind of like adding Alora to the party in Baldur's Gate (way late in the game to get access to an NPC thief).

My personal recommendations:

1. add Safana, dual class Imoen to mage early, add Jaheira and Khalid (as annoying as they are...) and pick up another NPC type along the way (Kivan is a good bowman, and with the optional kits installed he can be an archer, which allows him to pass Coran in bowmanship). My choices for other NPC might be Kivan, Ajantis, Xan (if you want 2 mages), or Branwen (if you want another priest).</font>
2. keep Imoen a thief, and pick up Minsc as tank and both Dynaheir and Xan (they complement each other nicely). That leaves one slot for a cleric. Go get Branwen.</font>

My favourite Thief is Shar-Teel - her back-stabbing is awesome. But I guess she won't match your alignment and does tutu do anything to her stats, cos I've never played it.

Ps : I have Alora as my companion at the moment, she so sweet!

No, Shar-Teel's stats are pretty much the same.

Oh, and I never said Alora wasn't a good NPC. She just doesn't show up until way late in the game. I like to have better control of my thief's skill progression than that.

I have thought some now and have come up with these suggestions. I now have TotSC too.

But there are some things that troubles my mind. In what level should I dual Imoen?
And who should take the final spot. Usually I have taken Branwen/Yeslick, but is it nessesary to have two clerics/druids?

Dual Imoen at level 10 if you want her to potentially get the <u>maximum</u> level attainable by a mage (level 31). However, if you want her to get to level 28 as a mage (has the same amount of spells as the level 31 mage can cast), then dual at level 15 shashbuckler.

Yes, but you've also got BG2+ToB installed.

Yes but there are only the PC that goes to BG2. You can´t bring with you NPCs.

Sorry, wasn't aware of that. I thought it allows you to play the games as 1 continuos game, or is that only BGT? [img]graemlins/1ponder.gif[/img]
