Is there any way to make the game a little less jumpy? I don't know the specifics of computer and stuff, but in the original NVN i was able to adjust some stuff and it ran smoother. Specifically, in the opening dream sequence where i see the evil drow lady and whenever a big group of enemies appear, the terrain goes jumpy. If anyone could give me any advice, I'd appreciate it

With HOTU the system requirements have been upgraded - you basically need a slightly better system than that required for NWN's or SOU. What video card do you have? (You can find this in the display properties on your computer settings or see it come up briefly as your PC boots when you turn it on.
Make sure you check the sound settings in the game (Options - Sound Options - Advanced Options) and put it on Miles Fast 2d Positional Audio. If that does not help write back here with as much info on your system specs as possible and we'll see what we can do. |
We've got a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440, I think.. I'll get the rest back to you later, I've gotta go out really quick.

Today, this guy over in the General Conversations forum was asking about video cards and how to choose between Radeon and Nvidia. One of the forum moderators offered this link to a site that talks about the performance comparisons of various cards...and in the article you will find a mention that the MX 440 uses DirectX 7, but HotU wants 8.1 or higher, so you may be missing out on that. Also, I notice from this website that your card does not have a cooling fan (Is this true?), and so maybe it is getting too hot. Have you cleaned the dust from your machine lately? Is there good airflow?
I found many other websites that all have thier comparisons, but this may be enough for you. Now...maybe some people on this forum will say that they have your exact same card...and theirs is fine. Well...there may be something else that they have that you don't. like a different processor or more memory...I dunno. I would definately start with checking your heating/cleanliness. Make sure you have the latest drivers for the card by going to nvidia's website. [ 12-26-2003, 09:51 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |
Thanks Larry I'll clean it out and check all of that out, and get back to you on if it works.
