When is Hordes of the Underdark supposed to come out? Hopefully sometime this year?

Chewbacca 08-08-2003 10:38 AM

Fall 2003 is the target, but nothing has been set into stone. Bioware typically says very little about release dates until the game has gone gold.

OOh, if it is as great as Shadows of Undrentide, I'll be there. They predicted June for SoU and made it; hopefully their prediction of September for Hordes HotU?) wil be as spot-on. Maybe Drow will be a playable race, instead of just an Elven option.

An unreferenced rumor is November.
I remember that because my b-day is the same month.

They wont. No subraces and only two new tilesets. They will raise the levelcap to level 30 though, and add another 6 prestige classes...

September? Hell no, that's a month from now and they haven't even put stuff up on the official site. Don't get your hopes up yet people, do as I am and put it out of your mind for now. I'd wager December, even January.

Yeah SpiritWarrior, I'm gonna be hopeful for a pre-holiday release, even if that means the week before Christmas. ;)

I did read on the official forums they were going to open the web area for HOTU much closer to release than they did for SOU. They felt they let too much out too soon for SOU, so a release 2-3 months from now, October or Novemeber, is in the realm of possibility.

Fortunately I saved IWD 2 to play til just recently even though I bought it last summer so I have something to keep me distracted besides community modules and EFU.

Lucky you. IWD2 is great!

Ok I go by what www.gamespot.com post. They list it as 11-19-2003.

www.gamestop.com says 11-18-2003.
www.amazon.com says 11-18-2003.

So I would bet around then.

I wouldn't go by what you hear from game stores and retailers - that's just their "best guess" based on someone else's "best guess". Until it goes gold there's no guarantee - though Bio traditionally tend to stick to their milestones.
