Hi all

I'm playing SoU using my character from NWN. No challange, but fun nontheless. My character is a level 17 ranger well equiped, and I only get 5 XP points when slaying monsters. I'm into chapter 2 and boss monsters give me 15 to 30 XP points. Is this correct? I know level 20 is max anyway, so it's not a big issue.

Since you imported a char you kinda ruined it for yourself. The xp is accurate and means alot to a first level character.

Hey Gloin, Welcome to Ironworks.

NWN uses a scaling exp system, which means that you will only get decent xp in combat from creatures that are equitable to your level. It part of the 3rd edition rules I beleive and I know that other IW regulars can probably explain it in detail better than me.

Considering that a character should end SOU around level 12-13 and you are playing with a level 17 character, I doubt you'll get any real xp from any of the encounters in SOU all the way up to the last battle.

I would reccomend downloading a module designed for characters of your level from NW Vault or play on the Escape From Undermountain server that the Ironworks proprietor, Ziroc, runs on nearly a daily basis. You'll find decent xp once you get down a few levels. My level 15 character gained two levels while making it to the 8th level of the Undermountain and I skipped some battles.
