Do they look any differend from humans in-game? Cant see a difference...there are no pointy ears so such...what are the physical differences?
There aren't many differences between humans and halfelves in looks and those are probably too small to add to a game. The important differences are that it gains some elven abilities in a lesser form (for example elf immunity to enchantment spells. halfelf +2 bonus on saving throw).
Half-elves have a ears that are a little bit pointed (not so much there would be difference in the game) From my p&p phb: Half-elven height 5-6 foot, weight 90-180 pounds. Half-elves are paler, fairer and smoother-skinned than humans but skin tone, hair color vary just as human's does. The shape of the eyes still is almond-like. |
but are they shorter in game?

half elves use the same character model as humans.
The heads are different, though. Just slightly. The toolset confirms this... but I doubt it makes a difference, in the game itself.
But in the actual game play they are horrible, probably the worst race to play as. They don't get thief bonuses and great dex like elves, and they don't get extra feats and skills like humans. They only get a very pared down version of elf with no specialty class. IMO their only real use is roleplaying value.

Please say so if you think i'm wrong, I need a good reason to pla yas a half-elf.
I do believe that half-elves get the human "any favored class" rule. But they don't get the bonus feat.
They do get small bonuses...but I can't see their value, really

Doesn't anyone roleplay anymore
