A quick poll on your preferred gaming styles for NWN.

Stratos 05-04-2004 12:36 PM

1. I play single-player modules the most, but occasionally play online. I intend to go over to multiplayer more soon.

2. Only the most highly recommended.

3. Adventuring either solo or with a team.

Xen 05-04-2004 02:35 PM

1) Playing singleplayer games.
2) Anything I can get my hands on.
3) Creating my own character's story, regardless of his/her level, through roleplay.

Nice poll, Legolas. Well thought out. I'd like to try online mltiplayer but I've never done it before. Wouldn't even know where to begin.

The only time I play now is to make sure I scripted things correctly... My laptop doesn't support NWN, so it's difficult to play with such poor graphics.
Ah well. My legacy lives on in my mods.

I build modules and barely, if ever play modules by others. If I play I like to roleplay

Timber Loftis 05-04-2004 03:14 PM

I've had so very little time to play lately, but when I do play, I tend to play with myself.

Personally I'm a big fan of the multiplayer section.
I found a great server where I've been playing the same character for just over 8 months now, on a near-daily basis, and I'm still having tons of fun. As well as tons of stories by now.

Although it's possible to go from level 1 to level 30 in just one or two days of dedicated levelling, I'm currently, have been for a while, and plan to be for some time to come, both level 6 and an underdog.

Still, the vast majority of posts here is either on problems in the OC (which is fine) and on creating the most effective character (which may well be your cup of tea and you're welcome to it).
The lack of topics on roleplaying itself made me wonder where everyone's interests lie, but at the same time also whether roleplay even needs an explanation or guidelines.
Only one way to find out...

I try each singleplayer campaign at least once, usually all the way through. But, I suppose I enjoy playing online more.

I don't play modules. I either play the OCs or on a specific server.

I've never really taken the time to work up a character background, mostly because I'd lose interest in playing altogether. But I do roleplay. In fact, that's my one and only style of play. Whenever I play online, I usually work by myself, unless there's someone on I know and trust (who are also strictly RPers).

I love to RP characters but avoid RP-oriented servers as most are either laden with ridiculous restrictions or full of people who believe themselves above other players in a desperate attempt to show the bullies IRL that they're more than what they seem (a 400 yr old elf actually).

I usually stick to PVP servers. I tend to RP my char there alot too. Don't get me wrong, PVP is full of random PKers and crashers but y'know, each to his own.

I don't play much off or online anymore really though, after a full year of NWN's I've done all there is to do and seen my fair share of punk assed kids, evil pixies, dwarven warriors and really badly made Drizzt characters.

Sadly, I think this game is on It's last legs and It's a shame cuz it did provide me with months and months of enjoyment.
