The Pickpocket Experience

This one makes absolutley no sense: I pickpocket someone, and it says "Pickpocket Attempt Undecided." Undecided!? Look, if I've got my hand in someone's pocket, either I've run off with their money, or they're jamming a foreign object into my skull!

Beholder Questions:

I have a couple of questions about the Beholder Kin. In the Underdark Tileset, they've got a "Beholder Market" under the Feature's Section. They don't have hands, how the hell could they be merchants? There's also the Kobold Slaves in the Beholder Caves without the tongues. How the hell could they cut the tongues out if they don't have hands?
