Ok, here's the problem. I'm trying to make a version of the "Robe of the Goodarchmagi" from BGII for my mage (i'm using the same statistics as the original). I can create a robe and give it the properties I want but i can't make one without an arcane spell casting penalty, a dexterity penalty, or a base AC of 0. Does anyone know how to do this?

Set the torso peice of the armor below appearance (I think) 18. Setting it to appearance 1 will work. This will set the base AC to 0 and get rid of the dex and spell casting penalty but wont effect the appearance of the robe.
edit- This is because the torso piece sets the base armor type of any piece of armor or clothing. [ 04-10-2004, 12:00 AM: Message edited by: Chewbacca ] |
thanks for the info. I found a robe of the White Archmage which would serve my purposes just fine after a little tweaking but its good to know for future use. I already have another robe in mind.

In the toolset set the torso appearance from 0 -10. Anything after this will incur a dex penalty and SCF penalty since you're on medium armor.
Or you can use the craft skill in-game by right clicking your char and click 'add a robe to current armnor'. Any armor can be converted into a robe at any time or existing robes can be changed in appearance with this feature. |
