What is the ideal weapon for fighters? I have three options, great axe,greatsword and scythe.The three are quite similiar. The scythe has a times 4 critical hit but only has 2d4 damage.

Also, I was shocked when i see the damage type for scythe is slashing and piercing. Does anyone know what this means?

Anyway, I would like to know what are your favourite weapons for fighters.

Pick whatever weapon you want to use. A greatsword is a solid choice, though, but any will do. Just remember that the scythe is a exotic weapon so you'll need the Weapon proficiency: Exotic feat to use it.

The x4 critical of the scythe is good, especially if you get the improved critical feat.

I don't have a really favourite weapon when I play a Fighter but I tend to use two-handed ones as they do more damage and with a Fighters high strength; alot of damage.

I advise the greatsword as well, though depending on your race, you might want to change to longsword or greataxe. For RP reasons as well as practical reasons.
But in the end, as always, personal preference should win out over whatever we say.
