I've got Neverwinter nights installed,a nd i'm trying to play it, but after i've played it for a minute or two, my computer freezes....s'really annoying me :(
i've just got basic Nwn installed and not patched...i've tried re-installing it and patching it and neither works...incase its some hardware conflict i've got an AMD duron 1.4 with a radeon 9600 pro and256 mb of ram.....this is sucky.... :( |
Try downloading new drivers for your radeon.
|
It could also be your soundcard and not video at all.
|
i don't have a soundcard...:'(....its inbuilt into the motherboard.....i'll try updating my radeon driver...thanks for the tips....

I think that is your problem right there with your soundcard.
Try this: Hit Start > Run > type in dxdiag and hit ok. Then on the sound tab turn down or off hardware sound acceleration. Hit ok then try the game again. |
Couple of things...
When you hit the NWmain menu (the one where you select 'Play') hit configure and disable sound there. Run the game and if it still crashes you can rule out your soundcard/onboard sound. Make sure you are running your desktop in 32-bit. Update you graphics drivers and get the catalyst drivers. Turn off shiny water. Make sure you are running 'Miles Fast' under the sound options > 'Advanced'. Let us know how you get on, mate. |
ITS ALIVE!!!!!
i updated my graphics card and told my stupid old computer it didn't in fact have hardware rendered sound, which for some reason it thought it did :S..oh well...yay!!! thankie to all |
