Hello. I apologize in advance for this, as I was sure I had seen it discussed a very long time ago. I just can't find the answer now. I did a complete install (custom and select everything, including the movies). However, Balder's Gate TotSC (3 CD version) requires me to put disk three in the CD drive every time I start the game. This was only a minor annoyance until just today. My CD drive is having some sort of kaniption (sp?) fits. I seem to remember a switch in the ini file or something that would turn off the need for a CD. Also, in the same file, I seem to remember a switch that would turn off the intro running of the credits for Black Isle, TSR, etc. I keep having to mouse click to pass each of them by. Anyone out there know what I'm talking about?

Yes, and no. Im not sure if you meant disk 3 or 6 into the drive when u start up. I know it needs the TotSC disk, but Im sure it doesnt need 3. Im not sure about being able to stop its playing the movies, I cant find it if its already there, but unless ur computer is realllllly slow, three mouse clicks isnt all that bad. To me anyway. Good luck on the CD drive!

The 6 CD version requires a CD in the drive at startup (like many other non-cracked programs does). In the 6 CD version it is the 6th CD (TotSC) that must be in the drive at startup.

I guess that the same goes for the 3 CD version, just that it must be disk No 3 instead.

The game is not using any data on the CD in the drive, but it still needs to be there, so the game 'is sure' that you have the CD's.

And yes - you can disable all the movies, I did that myself, but cannot remember how it is done. Try to search this site or other BG sites (ex. SixOfSpades site).

I click through all the movies every time, and it's no problem to me. It takes just a second.
