When I started NWN again for the first time in a few months, I first updated it, and then the sound was sooooo laggy!! I just started a new game, and Bim took like forever to finish that sentence 'I need to talk to you'!

Of course this isn't normal  , and when I restarted the game and it still happened, I just thought: let's reinstall it, and see what happens. So that's what I'm doing right now, but I hope you guys know of my particular problem and if there's an easier solution than reinstalling

My sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster Live

NWN does not like a Sound Blaster Live. I had one and remember reading a post from somebody on this forum that there were known issues with this card and the game, and that it was tough luck.

Thus, I bought an Audigy 2.

I like my updgrade, so I suggest you try the same.

Try running the config utility and do a system scan, this has fixed several sound problems I have encountered with the game though I dunno if it will fix yours.

Yeah this is a well known problem with this type of soundcard, and they mention it in the Readme file.

"Sounds may not play correctly or the game may crash under Windows XP
if you are using the default drivers for the Creative Labs Soundblaster Live Cards.
Please upgrade your drivers as soon as possible."

The upgrade fixes most cases but alot still experience problems (I suspect the problem lies with XP) and really have no other choice but to get a new soundcard....

So where do I get the upgrade drivers then?
