I've reached chapter two and I'm well on my way through all the forests. I have Sharwyn as a companion and we've summoned a skeleton chieftain and a dire tiger.
Now suddenly the game runs as slow as a snail, I'm talking below 15 FPS here. Did anyone had this issue before? I'm running the game on a AMD 2000+XP, 512Megs of RAM, Geforce3Ti200 and then some PC. The game ran smoothly up until now. I've decreased all the video settings including resolution, but to no avail. It has to be a game problem or something. Anyone? |
Check for other RAM-consuming prgrams running in the background. I'm sure you have tried most of the usual stuff so all I can suggest if that dosen't work is a re-install. This way you will know it's not a bug of some form.

Yeah, it;s probably a RAM thing, cuz the game runs smooth until I enter battle and then all of a sudden its slowing down. Then I have to save/reload to get back on track.

Nvidia just came out with a new version of the drivers for your card on 8-13-2003 you might want to see if they help.
Have you upgraded to the newest patch? If so did this problem start after the upgrade? There was mention in the beta that the patch seemed to slow down certian areas. I think that was in SOU only but I am not sure about that. That is all I can think of rght now. Granamere |
Ok, I have a real insight into my problem: the slowing down started after I installed the enhanced henchman pack. I ran around the game alone and now the game has a steady fps of 40-60. I can even run it in 1280x1024 without performance penalties. Its just a little hard to play without a henchman, so....

Update to 1.31. This should fix it so the hakpaks causes no problems.
|
MERDE!! I did a complete re-install of the game, applied patch 1.31 (Undrentide installed), no hak packages installed whatsoever and the game runs like cr*p!! No matter what video options or resolutions I use, whether tere are henchman or not, the game runs below 15 fps. Even talking becomes impossible this way. I'm in the farmlands, maybe that area is just screwed up? I can't believe this is happening.....

Yeah try start a new game for test purposes. Update your vid card too.

I also tried (according to nwn forum) setting AGPX2 instead of X4 and disabling sound, all to no avail... |
Hmmmm. So we could assume that it's only that saved game itself. I doubt it's a corruption issue rather some hardware problem with the area itself. Try continue on and see if it changes at all maybe?
