I've never taken Safana before, but I decided to experiment in this game. Now I went to what I call "The Cave O' EXP" (includes three flesh golems inside and three sirines without) since I think that's the one she wanted me to go to. The problem is, I had already been there and cleared it. When I went again she had no dialogue. Have I gotten the wrong cave? If so, where is the correct one? Thanks in advance!

Woo-Hoo, Leveled up!!!! Yaaaay!

I had a similar situation a couple of weeks ago now with Safana when I erm, took upon her services for the first time aswell.
Having already cleared out the cave she mentions (the one I think you have already done) I also got no new dialogue. Perplexed, I then removed her from my party, after which she then seemingly acknowledged that I'd done the quest. So maybe try that and see if she acknowledges it being done, she'll then offer her services again for the rest of the of the game.

I think that's the way it was for me, anyway.

Alternatively, explore further to the north, just south of Candlekeep for another cave too just to make sure you have the right cave. But I'm positive you do already.

Safana has proven herself fairly worthy to me at level 7 now, deep into the malevolent evil that is Durlags Tower, so I can reccomend her.
On reflection though, I think I would have liked to have gotten her a bit earlier to gain more early level control over her thief percantages.
I was on the way to Cloakwood by that time!

Consider grabbing Coran too for in party banter with Safana - as in my party, she's mostly just been getting rebuked and shoved off by Edwin who doesn't want anything to do with her feet. :D

uh,

Anyway, you went in the right cave. I've never used Safana before, so I dunno how to fix your problem. I guess you just gotta deal with it or change the global variables using GK.

Cerebro, Safana can get gotten pretty much right after you leave CK if you want. You just have to travel south to her and to her area (and survive the sirens at the same time :D ).

I'm well aware of that Lord, but thanks for pointing out the obvious to others who may not have known. ;)
It was a tactical party choice on my part to ignore Safana in favour of Kivan early in the game to make levelling up that little more smoother and easier.

I was reflecting however, on the issue of thief perencentiles being spread around by the AI (instead of specialisation) and that I possibly should have taken her on earlier to get more control of this. But generally, Safana has performed very well for me and I've enjoyed her company alot more than the ever childish and whiny Imoen.

Dron, you might want to remember that those are BG2 SPOILERS! Edit it.

Dron_Cah 12-22-2003 02:05 PM

Just for you, ok. But it is likely that those who have not would easily think me mistaken. She is referred to be so several times in BG1. Besides, fosters childeren do not call their family "foster sister" and "foster brother." Well, at least the ones i know don't.

PS. Uh, you should prolly edit your post as well, since it has my original quote contained within. ;)

Just thought I'd throw in this little bit of Safana trivia which I only found out the other day by accident:

Which famous actress does Safana quote when she says:

"When I'm good, I'm very good, but when I'm bad, I'm better". :D

Mae West! Might have made more sense for Safana to have been blonde, short with a Brooklyn accent then eh? But I guess that would have thrown the subtle homage out the window. ;) 10 points for those who got it right.

And now that Dron_Cah has edited the spoilers out of his post, maybe you should do likewise. Neh?
