hi i was thinking of buying this game since I played out baldurs gate a few times now so what is so great about this game? how different is it from baldurs gate2? thanks.../calsiumus

It's very different from BG in that you can't have a big party, the story-line is kinda weak (though I thuroughly enjoy it), and it's based on 3rd Edition rules. But I luv the graphics and camera set-up, plus the various characer kits. That and the expansion is a lot of fun so far (just got it).

The only enjoyment I get from this game is it's ability to go online with my friends and play through levels of user-created worlds, like our Webmaster's Undermountain Project. I also like building my own personal lands and adventures...just to test my creativity.

The Official Campaign has been kinda linear this far ( I'm in chapter 2 out of 4) and alot of hack'n'slash but it isn't really bad, just a bit boring. The OC should be viewed as a testing ground for different classes and class combinations and not as a grandeur adventure. The really good part about Neverwinter Nights is, as Larry mentioned, is the ability to make your own modules with the Toolset that comes with the game or download modules made by others to play yourself or with others online. Some of them out there are really well-made. And their free.

I found this game to be similar to Diablo. Lots of hack'n'slash. But I think, it is nowhere near the BG series. The campaign is very linear and it is not as compelling as BG.
