I have just got to Luskan, and I'm trying to do a couple of little quests.

In the Wink & Tickle, Erb asked me to get his ring back, and Yvette wants her baby back. I accepted the quests, and they're in my journal.

Now when I go to the relevant locations, when I talk to the people I have to get the ring and the baby from, there is no option in the dialogue to talk about these things - just the usual 'can you give me directions' dialogue type things. OK I thought, I can get round this, and my nifty thief pickpockets the ring from the woman who has it.

So I run back to the brothel to present Erb with his ring, and there's no dialogue option to tell him I've got it! Just the same dialogue options as there were originally, as if I didn't know about the quest - but it's in my journal OK.

What the heck is going on here? Is this a known bug? Or am I missing something?

Have you installed the patches? It sounds like you have done it right.

You get the quest from erb...Talk to Lady Jadale...You are supposed to be able to either talk, fight or steal your way past her and get the ring. Then you take it back to Erb and boink you get rewarded.

Yvettes child is a simple talk, threaten or pay thing. It should be completed when you get the kid and return her to momma.

I found out it is a bug, but you can get around it by talking to the mercenaries guarding the door of the brothel before going to talk to Erb or Yvette - apparently that sets the flags for these quests. Bloomin annoying, looks like I will have to get the latest patch in case there are any other bugs coming up - which will probably take hours as I have dial-up :rolleyes:

ouch! Dial up. I think the last patch is over 6 meg. Good luck getting it installed. I hope you have a stable connection.

All I can say is OH MY GOD.

I have version 1.11 which is buggy, ran into major problems in the Host tower with blank journal entries and stuff.

I am currently *trying* to patch my game. The patch file is 21.2Mb :eek: and takes 2 hours to download (how I miss my broadband connection :( )

I am now on my third try *sigh*. The first time, I lost my connection after an hour and a half. [img]graemlins/madhell.gif[/img] The second time, the file downloaded, but the automatic update would not work and I got a message to update manually. Just downloading the manual update patch this time, if this doesn't work the PC is going out of the window.
