Do sorcerers count as wizards when determining the favoured class?
Because I want to give my Elven Sorcerer a level of rogue and I'm wondering if I would suffer any XP penalties...

EDIT: Can you turn off the humming of the pixie?

No,

Sorcerors and wizards are considered different classes when determining XP penalties for multiclassing.

If the humming bothers you THAT much, either turn down the sound OR desummon the pixie.

I do not know the answer for sure, however I would guess that the favored class is the only one that will not cause experience loss. I thought it was possible that the list might include subclasses, so to speak. For instance a ranger or barbarian would be a subclass of fighter or in this case sorcerer being a subclass of wizard. However the favored class of the half-orc is not fighter, it is barbarian. So I do not think the subclasses situation applies.

I also cannot help you with the pixie. I do agree though, that tinkling noise really gets to someone after awhile.
