I Can't install this game ! :(

I've got plenty of hard drive space and all the needed configurations.

It installs the first CD just fine but halfway through the 2nd CD it stops, an error message appears and tells me to go tho a certain file in my computer.

I go their and they say I've got an 'uncompression error: corrupt data'.
The CD is brand new - I got it this morning!!!

<font color=skyblue>I had the same problem with BGII. Take it back and request a replacement. Be prepared to explain exactly what is wrong with it, and tell them that you called the game's tech support, and they told you to return it for another copy.</font>

PROBLEM: I didn't buy it where I live but in Australia

Larry_OHF 12-25-2002 09:40 AM

<font color=skyblue> Hmm..I know that I have heard that formats are different all over the world, for example...you could not play a European DVD on an American DVD player...because it cannot read it without a code converter. If Australia's code version of the game is different than the one your country or area uses...I see you live in hell...then you will have to send the game back to the manufacturer, and request a game that your country can have.

Man...why did you put yourself through this?</font>

Agree with Larry (omg, I cannot believe I just did that! ) When I have trouble with an install, I run a disc diagnostic and print it out then return the software for an exchange. That way, whomever knows *exactly* what is wrong with the disc and that you're not trying to scam them. When I bought SoA (brand spanking new!) there were *25* disc errors/corruptions on the install disc(s)!!!

It may mean a delay---I'm not sure just how far hell is from Australia.....but well worth the wait.

Hiya Larry darlin'! I'm fine...well, as fine as one can be when one's toes are cold :( . I really do not like cold weather unless I'm beside a roaring fire.

Dying? Oh no. Dying to go home and smite some evil, maybe :D

WTF!!!

I tried it with my disc burner (you don't know I have this, remember that) and it worked!!!

Now I've got it installed and playing to my hearts content

Did not the British think Australia was Hell that was why they were sending all of their convicts there right?
Check and see if you can update the BIOS on your CDROM Drive. I bet you can on your burner also. If it is a lite on drive here is the site for it.
http://www.liteonit.com.tw/english/index-english.htm
Go to Downlods then Firmware. Before you install make sure you have the right firmware for the CDROM drive. I have two different lite on drives in my main system and the updaters will only update the specific drive but be careful.
