I'm currently playing my BGT solo monk and have the following problem:
When I return from Candlekeep (after the murder of Rieltar) I am NOT wanted.

In fact there's not a single Flaming Fist Enforcer around, not in front of the Duchal Palace or the Barracks and the ones inside are not interested in me.
The Harper contact is not at the Sorcerous Soundries and neither is Tamoko.
I've tried to spawn them (the Harper, Tamoko and the FFEnforcer) but I only get small advances.
For rescuing Duke Eltan I had to CLUA in the mercenaries, then the healer, then Duke Eltan's body. I'd have to CLUA in the Mage at the top of the Iron Throne as well and all the random encounters.
Does anybody have an idea which variable to switch so that I can get myself on the wanted list?

My last hardsave is from before entering the library of Candlekeep and I've already tried reloading from there to no avail.

Is this a buggy element in the BGT version? If not, it is not as uncommon a problem as we would like it to be. Chances are, that you may need to reinstall BG or patch it if it's BGT. That's normally the solution to the problem.

EDIT: Sorry about that. Reread the post and I can see you're on BGT.

I've had a fine run through BGT before and AFAIK it's not a common bug.
I'm quite sure that I could debug this if I just knew the right variable to set :(

Okay, CLUA-spawning now got me as far as the Duchal palace
I CLUAed in:
</font>
  • Delthyr</font>
  • Tamoko (which made her reappear at the FF compound without my doing, yeah!)</font>
  • Benjy - defeated him and his mercenaries</font>
  • Rashad - he turned to Doppleganger and I killed him</font>
  • Duke Eltan's body - which I took to the Harbormaster</font>
  • Cythandria - came complete with Argh und Urgh</font>
  • Slythe and Krystin - got the invitation from them</font>
  • Bill - showed him the invitation and he opened up the palace</font>
But at the palace there's nobody again! I can CLUA in Belt and Liia to have them start their speech, but I don't know which instance of Sarevok to use and which and how many guests I have to CLUA in.
If someone knows this or even better the global variable that screwed up everything for me, please help!

It sounds to me that you accidentally skipped the trigger that starts Chapter 7 (as Lord Brass mentioned, not as uncommon as we'd like it to be), and so the game still thinks you're in Chapter 6. And since the appearances of all those people you had to CLUA in are chapter-based, none of them showed up, and....you get the drift.

To confirm whether you're in Chapter 6 or 7, check your Journal.

If you're still stuck in 6, I suggest you Reload your prior-to-entering Library Autosave, play that part through again, and then when you re-emerge from Candlekeep, run around on the grass for a bit until you get the little "Beginning Chapter 7" screen and voice-over. If that part refuses to play, try hitting Ctrl-C to advance the chapter manually.

You are correct in that Chapter 7 has not started for me (with voiceover etc.) but a check of the GLOBALS tells me CHAPTER=7 so I'm puzzled.
Also note that I'm playing BGT (BG2 engine)
I already tried going back to the library save but I guess I'll do it again.
Thx for the help Six, if it works I'll flag you "my personal saviour" for the next 50 posts ;)

Looks as if it didnt work! :D
that is a strange one though and I know it isnt to do with bgt as long as you have the latest patch (not sure about before that)

Finally got out of it.
Ctrl+C didn't work sadly, it brought up Nalia's ToB epilogue (NO.FRIGGIN.IDEA.WHY!)
Here is what I did:
</font>
  1. I re-did the Candlekeep catacombs and everything until I arrived at Baldur's Gate. Then I saved my character.</font>
  2. I loaded up an old save from my BGT blade (entering the Iron Throne for the first time) and played all the way through the same point (phew). I guess you can see where this is going?</font>
  3. I did a multiplayer PC swap: made my old save a multiplayer save, deleted all chars and imported my monk. Then I reverted it to single player again. The only thing which didn't work out well is that I now got a reputation drop down to 15 when I had used all the surplus funds of my monk to donate at temples (gotta make a lawful appearance ;) )</font>
So I'm back on track. When I find time I'll finish the story (and I can tell you that you're in for a surprise)

In lieu of that, I shall make a point of reminding people that all of my advice, sound though it may be, must be taken with a grain of salt if BGT is part of the equation.
