If you think it's the sound card, try disabling it completely and then playing to see if it cures it.

No problem, I've had my own herky jerky/stutter problems and would love to help anyone I can. ;)
I never had any problems with the chapter movies, but you could try what solved my "in game" stutter. I disconnected my printer. Sounds simple, but it has solved the problem for several people. Unfortunately, I don't know that it will help with your problem. There are as many different forms of stutter as there are grains of sand on a beach...lol. An exaggeration, of course, but the variety is amazing. Bioware's forums have lots more tech type info regarding these issues. I think you'll find someone there with a similar problem. I hope you'll find the answer, but make sure you try the easy stuff first! |
Oh yeah, you accidentally double posted, can you delete the second version.

Well I had this same problem myself - the opening story stuttered but everything else was fine. This phenomenon vanished as soon as I upgraded my graphics card from a TNT 2 Ultra to an ATI Raedon 8500. Nothing else was changed. 'Tis strange because if the root of the problem is the video card, then your story should be working just fine...
I would try searching for a fix or work-around on the NWN Tech Support forum: http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewforum.html?forum=49 |
Got the problem solved fiddled with open gl and got it to stop stuttering on the story line thanx to everyone that tryed to help me out and happy gaming everyone.
