I'm at a little of a wall here. Let me start off with some history. About 3 days ago I got sent neverwinter nights from a guy on ebay unfortunatly it was missing a disc. So I emailed him and he's sending me a burned copy. But to pass the time until it comes I'm creating a character from the manuel. Now I've come to a problem should I give my elven thief/ranger with 2 weapon fight ambidext. and weapon finesse dual daggers(please tell me about any special daggers, I dont really care about power either) or dual handaxes. Or mabey even a dagger and a rapier or two rapiers?

My personal combination (im a ranger), is to use a Rapier, and a short sword. Might not help you much, that combo, has sure saved me from a few scrapes!

I prefer a light flail and a katana, myself. Or a morningstar and a katana. Always with a katana..... they do the most damage for a medium weapon! The rapiers in the game (IMO) suck. I mean, the best, the Black Rider's Quill, only gives you stat bonuses! How useful is that?!

Daggers, on the other hand, are very useful too. My personal favorite, the Ice Talon, is a +2 weapon and does 1d6 cold damage. I have done up to 21 damage using it without a critical hit. That's handy. A dagger could also be an option (but with a katana though! Always with a katana!!).

Here are the small off-hand weapons to choose from:

Dagger
Kukri
Handaxe
Light flail
Light hammer
Mace (I'm not sure about this though)
Short sword

Here are the cool main-hand weapons to choose from:

Battleaxe
Warhammer
Katana
Flail
Morningstar
Rapier
Bastard sword
Longsword
Scimitar

(I might have missed a couple, but what the heck)

To be honest, any one of those combinations would be great. But keep in mind that Katana does the most damage!!!! (1d10)!!!!

Bastard Swords do just as much, Will, but I like the enchanted ones better.

My dual-wielder specialized in Bastard Swords, Katanas, and Long Swords. That way, he could use the best of the blades, combining between them for awesome combos. If you're a fighter type and can get Focus and Specialization, then they overcome the limits of using 2 medium weapons IMO. :D

How much damage does the kukri do? the manuel doesn't say. Also with weapon finesse I can't use a katana
:(
Oh well, anyway I like dagger alot. I think they fit in character.

I am using the Astral Blade +1 (made it in Ch 1. From longsword +1 and Adamantium) and the Black Rider's Quill. For the time being. That is until I make lvl 8 and can use my Desert Wind +1 (also made in ch 1. From a scimitar +1 and a Diamond)

I'm not so sure that you should be so concerned with creating the character. A burned CD? Which CD? GAME 1 or 2? I ask that because there is copy protection on CD2. Not sure if you can burn a copy of it where it will work ok or not (possibly a cracked CD?). If you bought it on e-Bay, you should tell the seller that you bought it from that you want the ORIGINAL and he/she can keep the copy. You paid for it right? Why pay for a burned copy? Well, unless it's labeled that way. And even then, I'm not sure that's legal.

Kukri does 1d4

Thanks I think I'll stick with the dagger than they're cheaper, do the same damage, and don't need the exotic weapon feat.
