Is there a speed factor to weapons like in BGII?

You know...I am not sure there are weapon speed factors in 3E.
I should know though. Hmmm...it might be an optional rule. Like the one stating that if you take more than 50 points of damage from a single attack you have to make a fortitude save or die. I will check it out. Of course the NWN rules are not exactly 3E. They approximate it very well but there are missing feats and skills. They always seem to want to adapt rules to fit the game. Oh well. I assume that some of the rules are tough to implement on a computer. |
if not it would seem silly to choose short sword over long sword

I think that tiny weapons are fastest, small weapons fast, medium weapons are kinda normal, and large weapons slowest. If you dual-wield or use a double weapon (double axe, dire mace, etc.) , you attack like you are hasted.

No weapon speed in NWN or 3rd ed. rules.

No weapon speeds in 3E and not in NWN either.
A couple of advantages for using light weapons....they can be finessed, and they can be used as a light weapon in the off-hand for a decrease in the two-weapon fighting penalties. |

The only thing close to speed factor in NWN, is if you are wearing boots of speed ot any other item or spell that makes you hasted, then you attack twice as fast (so u get more attacks per round).
