It seem that when you try to play an evil character the only thing you can do is force NPCs to give you money. And when you do... the only thing that happens is you cant do the quests. So whats the point? I made my first evil character a female dwarven monk to pair up with Grimgnaw for some laughs. But being evil is so much harder in this game as it was in BG2.

Oh well [/rant]

evil is harder and there are more "neutral" optionas than anythign else, taking the money for quests is neutral as is asking for more, there are a few places where evil really has a place to shine.

theres a lady in the moonstone mask who will ask you to deliver her the artifacts of Never (from the tombs) and you can also free the demon in Helms Hold for items and be extremely evil, in chapter 2 you can extort items from Belial, demon lord of fire, as well as some other things, so basically there are places to be evil, but it's not easy (aside from extorting from everyone in the game)

You can kill people. ;) As Morguruat said, you can deliver the Halueth Never items to the dude in the Moonstone Mask instead of the Temple of Tyr guy. You can force money from little kids. You can break into people's houses (the nobles in the Blacklake District come to mind). You can kill the leader of the Red Elk tribe instead of giving his tribe a cure for the plague. You can give Klauth all of the dragon eggs. You can kill the spirit of the wood. You can free the succubus. You can pickpocket people. You can go to a town and finish all of the quests, and then go on a killing spree. You can free the demon. Any of those things you can do! Being evil is not all bad.

Just make sure you finish the quest, get the reward, THEN extort money. Might as well get the best of both worlds. :D

Also, you can be as rude as you want to be with the key NPCs (Aribeth, Fenthick, Desther, etc.). They'll still do everything they do for you as if you were a good guy. Just don't kill anyone in their presence.

Other evil things to do in Chapter 1:

1. Blackmail Oleff to not reveal his involvement with the Moonstone Mask.

2. Tell Bethany (the girl who hits you up to save the Peninsula district as soon as you walk out of the temple) to take a long walk off a short pier. Then talk to her again and do it again (I love the response).

3. Tell the halfling woman (forget her name) in the house right near the entrance of the Peninsula district that you could care less about what is happening.

4. Watch as the zombies rip apart the innocents in the street (if I am not mistaken, you don't get any xp for saving them, anyway).

5. If you already know the quests (i.e. have finished the game before), kill all the people who surrender, unless you need them to finish the quest.

Just a few suggestions!

but personally I have found it much easier to be evil in NwN than in BG2.... mainly because there are alot more evil options in the story line... though I do find the whole story leaning towards the good end... ah well...</font>

Oh yeah...if I'm evil, I should be sabotaging their efforts to find a cure, not helping them (what do I care about the sick and dying, as long as it's not me...). They should have an option to join up with the bad guys (I wish they did that with the Twisted Rune in BG2).
