I want to play NWN Multiplayer, but usually when I log onto Gamespy it says "Time out error. Please retry." When it doesn't do that, and I finally get into a game, either the screen is black or everyone else in in a whole different area! If that's not enough, sometimes when I try to get into a game it says that "the client server version is not the same," or something like that. What am I doing wrong?

<font color=skyblue>The version variance is the only one I can answer about. That is the version of the game. If you have version 1.23 and the server has version 1.24...your versions of the patch do not match. Everybody has to have the same patch version. Just make sure you have the latest...then that means that the problem is not your fault, but their's</font>

I´ve had the same problem once. What I did (after consulting the hubby) was to reconfigure my router settings somewhat and disabling my firewall (the software kind). Some "directx games" need certain ports to be open. I have no idea which those would be on Gamespy though.. All I can think of.
