I've had NWN since it came out... I never bothered to try Multiplayer and I must say, it's great! :D
I only dislike meeting people who've upgraded their characters via the toolset.
I guess I'll have to!

Just be judicious when you choose which server you go to. If you go to action, then you will mostly meet players with customized items, if you go elsewhere you'll meet a more roleplaying-type crowd.

I have a question.. a lot of players seem to be very powerful... like above level 20 I think. Some have 292 hp etc.. how do I gain higher than level 20?

Probably because they cheated. That's why i hate multiplayer so much. Too many damn cheaters around............mostly.

All I know is that we just got our second copy of NWN so we could mp (thanks Micah Foehammer for the absolutely brilliant idea!) and I agree. Multiplay is great. Only problem is that we are so used to playing our own way that it's a little hard to adjust to having another playing style alongside. One of Septfox's chars just hit (what would be) level 21--and he's upset since she can't level. ::shrugs:: Oh well.

You can get to 292HP without getting over level 20 - these guys probably have a CON score of around 28-30 (probably boosted by customized magic items), and if they are fighters and barbarians using 1d10/1d12 for their HP rolls it's not inconceivable to have HP up to 300 and still a) have a legal character (in ELC terms) and b) stay under the level 20 cap.

You cannot advance above Level 20 in normal circumstances because the game doesn't support ability score/hp/feats/skills increases above level 20.

But to JR's point, you would generally want to play on servers that have the "Legal Characters Only" box ticked. Otherwise you might come up against some characters with ability scores of 50 in every category. They could conceivably have 500+ HP.

I wonder if they are going to have a patch to have increased levels...
